The Cegliese Biscuit (U' Piscquett'l) is a typical product of the peasant tradition of Ceglie Messapica, in Puglia.

A dessert made with almond paste, filled with cherry jam and a light lemon fragrance, strictly handmade, 100% natural, gluten free, and lactose-free.

History tells that these biscuits were prepared and served by peasant families during wedding banquets or important anniversaries and also used as wedding favours.

 

Ingredients: Almonds (55%), honey (14%), Apulian sour cherry (cherries 80%, glucose-fructose syrup, sucrose; thickener: pectin; acidifier: citric acid; colouring: anthocyanins; flavourings; preservatives: potassium sorbate, sulphur dioxide) (14%), sugar, eggs, lemon zest.
